More Vacation Pictures

Venice Italy
Venice at daytime, we love comming to Venice and will take the opportunity to visit this unique corner of the world at every opportunity. Even though we have been to Venice twice already there is so much more to see. Everytime we go there we learn more about what to do and see. There are surrounding islans which are unique and rich in culture and history.
When you go to Venice you feel like you could hold the world in the palm of your hand. You should have seen the people look at us taking these pictures.

Both times that we have come to Venice we have come in the evening and are greeted by spectacular sites. Wondering around the street at night presents itself with many photo opportunities, but take a tripod.

No one makes pizza like the Italians. This is a little pizza shop in Venice which is where we have eaten on both our visits and is one of our favorite place. The food is inexpensive and very tasty. We will definately be going back again. Going to places like this helps keep the cost down unless you like paying fifty Euros for a meal.

Did I mention that Stephanie loves pigeons. This was one of thew funniest moments of the trip. Actually the pigeons loved Stephanie.

It is amazing al the pigeons you can attract with some seeds. You can buy a little bag for a Euro. This is in St. Marks square which is famous for their pigeons.

Ah yes, it is the city of romance and for about 150 Euros you can have a ride on this gondolla probalably spelled wrong, but you get the drift), anyway about romance, did I mention our 18 year old daughter was along?

Even the canals throughout the city are narrow and picturesque. Heidi keeps marveling that is you step out your back door it a watery drop. The building are old and have been standing for hundreds of years but are rich in character.

Yes even Malcolm and Jake enjoyed the beautiful views of the Grand Canal and walked the narrow streets of Venice. Jake especailly enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the pigeons in St. Marks Square.

The building at the top center is the train station in Venice and backs out on to the Gtand Canal, no cars, just boats.

Heidi & I are having breakfast on the terrace in Venice. Most hotels in Europe give you breakfast along with the price of the night. Some hotels give a better breakfast than others.

Okay so here it is my very first posting on the blog so I guess that make me a blogger. The real trick will be to get Heidi as a blogger as well.

I will be putting some pictures from our trip on the blog for all to see. It has almost been two months since we returned from Europe which is our second time over their in the last couple of years. We left on March 21 and returned on April 9. We took Stepahnie along with us for her 18th birthday and graduation. I don't think I have seen the inside of so many shopping stores as we did on this trip. It was a new cultual experience. We are looking forward to our next visit to Europe wich will hopefully be next year.
